John Carroll University is one of only 28 Jesuit colleges and universities. As is typical of most Jesuit educational institutions, it adheres to the highest standards of academic excellence.
John Carroll originated as St. Ignatius College in 1886, changed its name briefly to Cleveland College in 1925, and finally relocated from Cleveland's west side to its current site in University Heights in 1934. The school, which originally admitted men only, became coeducational in 1968.![]()
The school's BSBA, MBA and MS (accounting) programs are superb. The school has received favorable evaluations from Princeton Review and USN≀ also, and significantly, its business administration and accountancy programs are both accredited by AACSB.
The BSBA program consists of 128 credit hours. The tuition and room-and-board expense for undergraduates is $34,244 (tuition alone is $26,144). Substantial financial aid is available for exceptionally well qualified students.
At the graduate level, a student can earn an MBA by completing 36 credits at a tuition cost of $793 per credit hour. Up to 6 hours will be waived if the student has already earned a BSBA. The second graduate business degree is an MS in Accountancy. Students interested in this degree should have a BSBA degree with a concentration in accounting.
