There are hundreds of colleges and universities in the United States that offer instruction in business administration; however, not all are on the same par. In my opinion, the clearly superior institutions meet the following criteria: regional accreditation, AACSB accreditation in business administration, AACSB accreditation in accounting, on-campus residential instruction, a top-rated library and tenured faculty
.
Lesser institutions lack one or more of these qualifications. Some colleges and universities lack all but one of them, yet they still boast that they offer quality BSBA and MBA programs. That isn't true. In fact, as Col. Potter would say, that's "pure horsehockey."
Here is a list of 20 educational institutions, some not well known, that offer degrees in business administration. The best schools rate four stars (****), others get three, two or only one star. They are:
**** Bradley University
**** Clemson University
**** George Washington University
**** LeHigh University
**** Weber State University
*** Loyola Marymount University
*** Clayton State University
*** Idaho State University
*** Adelphi University
*** Butler University
*** Marymount University (Arlington, VA)
** University of Phoenix
** Liberty University
** Walden University
** Regis University
* Kaplan University
* Aspen University
* Strayer University
* Lexington University
* Stratford University

When compared to its for profit counter parts; why does the University of Phoenix get two stars when similar institution are only getting one? I am just curious as to what, if anything, sets them apart
